A combination of previous motifs provides interaction between ‘Wave 2’ and a further geometric shape designed on computer which is reminiscent of a black and white design by Bridget Riley in the 1960’s.

Floating Yellow Rhombic (2022)

A geometric arrangement incorporating rhombic motif from earlier work. It has an architectural feel with two of the sides having an uneven geometric profile. The rhombic field has become detached from the normal position and is floating away, interacting with the remaining shapes.

A concept piece with a cuboid shape constructed from 10 layers of coloured ‘squares’. Each layer changes colour according to a spectrum, ranging from the dark base to the light top.

Flattened Red Cube (2022)
75 x 110cm (30 x 44ins) unframed,
perspex with acrylic & spray acrylic paint.
A variation of Colour Cube using smaller circles which are all uniform in colour. The construction is consistent with Colour Cube with stacked ‘squares’. The particular vertical spacing produces a central pattern – a ‘pattern within a pattern’ – which dissipates any sign of the structure being a cube. Thus, the cube has been ‘flattened’.

Schism (2022)

This series was inspired by the Japanese art of ‘suminagashi’; black ink patterns on still water.The idea has been translated to a different medium. Schism is a dramatic cut through the dark of outer space with a ribbon-like opening of sky.
